How to choose a configuration

Payload Start with the combined mass of the end tool, mounting bracket, cables carried by the wrist, and workpiece. CR5A is rated for up to 5 kg, CR10A for up to 10 kg, and CR12A for up to 12 kg. The final combination must also remain within the applicable payload curve.
Working radius Compare the required tool path and fixture access with the working radius: 900 mm for CR5A, 1300 mm for CR10A, and 1200 mm for CR12A. The highest-payload model does not have the longest reach.
Repeatability The manual lists ±0.02 mm repeatability for CR5A and ±0.03 mm for CR10A and CR12A. Treat this as robot repeatability, not a guarantee of finished-process accuracy.
Maximum linear speed The listed maximum linear speed is 2 m/s for CR5A, CR10A, and CR12A. Actual operating speed depends on the programmed path, payload, installation, risk assessment, tooling, and process requirements.
Installation All three models support upright, ceiling, side, or any-angle installation. Non-upright installation requires mounting-angle calibration in the control software after power-on.

Confirm the exact controller version, emergency-stop device, power cable, robot cable, teaching device, software, connectors, documentation, packing, and all other included items in the final quotation and packing list. “Standard 5 m non-high-flex cable” should not be treated as a high-flex dress-pack cable.

Installation requirements

  • Install indoors in a well-ventilated area, away from excessive vibration, impact, direct sunlight, combustible materials, corrosive gases, dust, oil mist, metal chips, and strong electromagnetic environments.
  • Use four M8 socket-head bolts conforming to GB/T 3098.1-82, strength grade 12.9, for the listed models.
  • The mounting plane must withstand at least ten times the maximum J1 torque and at least five times the robot weight.
  • For non-upright installation, calibrate the mounting angle in the control software after power-on.
  • The controller supports vertical or horizontal installation. Keep its air inlet and outlet unobstructed, leave 200 mm on the corresponding ventilation sides, and reserve 200 mm at the front for cable routing.
  • When ambient temperature is below 10°C, warm up with several minutes of low-speed motion before high-speed, high-load operation.

A Dobot CR Series robot can only be considered for a handheld-laser-welder integration after the complete system has been engineered and assessed. The robot listing by itself does not include or promise a laser welding package.

Which model should I choose? Compare the complete wrist-carried payload and required reach first. CR5A is rated for 5 kg with a 900 mm working radius, CR10A for 10 kg with a 1300 mm working radius, and CR12A for 12 kg with a 1200 mm working radius. Check the applicable payload curve and working envelope before ordering.
Does the payload rating include the workpiece? Yes. Selection must account for everything carried by the robot, including the end tool, mounting bracket, wrist-carried cables or hoses, accessories, and workpiece. The center of gravity must also remain within the applicable payload curve.
Is this listing a complete laser welding or arc welding system? No. This listing is for the selected Dobot CR A Series robot configuration. A welding source, laser source, welding head or torch, wire feeder, chiller, gas system, fixtures, guarding, and process integration are not represented as included unless they are specifically confirmed in the final order scope.
